Basic sentence

ラーメンやさんで　ラーメンを　たべます。
Raamen'ya-san de raamen o tabemasu.I eat ramen noodles at a ramen shop.

Use

  1. Used when talking about where one eats or drinks.

Structure

N
(Place)		 で V ます。
どこ で V ますか。

Examples

①コーヒーショップで　サンドイッチを　食べます。
　Koohii-shoppu de sandoicchi o tabemasu.　I eat sandwiches at a coffee shop.
②A：きょう　どこで　ひるごはんを　食べますか。
　A: Kyoo doko de hiru-gohan o tabemasu ka.　A: Where will you eat lunch today?
　B：あの　みせで　食べます。
　B: Ano mise de tabemasu.　B: I'll eat lunch at that shop.

Commentary

  1. A.　「で」indicates that N is where the action takes place.
