Basic sentence

えきで　でんしゃに　のります。

Eki de densha ni norimasu.I get on the train at the station.

Use

1. Used when saying where one gets on or gets off a vehicle/mode of transport.

Structure

N1 (Place)	で	N2 (Vehicle)	に	のります。
			を	おります。

:Only studied in MARUGOTO (Starter A1 Rikai)

Examples

①わたしは　みどりえきで　ちかてつに　のります。

　Watashi wa Midori-eki de chikatetsu ni norimasu. 　I get on the subway at Midori Station.

②こうべで　ふねを　おります。

　Koobe de fune o orimasu.　I get off the ship at Kobe.

③A：どこで　でんしゃに　のりますか。

　A: Doko de densha ni norimasu ka.　A: Where do you get on the train?

　B：さくらえきで　のります。

　B: Sakura-eki de norimasu.　B: I get on at Sakura Station.

④A：どこで　バスを　おりますか。

　A: Doko de basu o orimasu ka.　A: Where do you get off the bus?

　B：くうこうえきで　おります。

　B: Kuukoo-eki de orimasu.　B: I get off at Kuko Station.

Commentary

1. A.　In「N2に　のります」, N2 indicates the mode of transport one gets on.
2. B.　In「N2を　おります」, N2 indicates the mode of transport one gets off/alights.
